Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. Her role on The Office brought her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress category and she also received two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Her mother, Anne, played in plays at church while she was a kid, which instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna grew up watching her mother Anne, in church productions. It instilled in her an interest in theater.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons to be Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's new play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she was then invited to appear in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey began a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since gained immense popularity, settling in the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads in the first two years. Office Ladies, which was released in the month of October and was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Month award for the month of January in 2021.
She has written two books, The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide that outlines her experience in Hollywood as a working actor and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office From Two Great Friends who Were There, an account of the most memorable friendship they had and their experiences on The Office.
